S/Sgt. William Woodrow Vigdal was reported Missing In Action on December 12, 1944, during the fighting near Habkirchen, Germany. He was born in 1912 and died in 1955. His death was related to tuberculosis that he contracted while being held as a prisoner of war. This picture was taken in 1948, at the wedding of his brother, Harold.

Thanks to Judith Rieffer Theiss for providing this picture and biographical information. Ms. Theiss' mother was married to S/Sgt Vigdal's brother Harold.
