Orville Preston Robnett, was 29 yrs old when he reported to Ft Sheridan, Il. on March 10 1944 for induction into the US Army. After receiving basic training with Co D 221th BN at Camp Blanding, Fl, he departed for overseas duty on Aug 17 1944. He was assigned as cook with the 134th HQ CO 2nd BN Inf. As Pfc, he served in the Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe battles and campaigns. He returned to the United States on September 10 1945 and was honorably discharged on November 5, 1945.

He returned to his wife & 4 small children in Illinois & was owner/operator of Robnett Painting & Contracting Co. He passed away April 14 1983 at age 68 in Carson City, NV & is buried in Lone Mountain Cemetery, Carson City, NV. Decoration and Ribbons he received were the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/3 Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct medal, 2 Overseas Service Bars, Meritorious Unit Award & World War 2 Victory Medal.
