Company C - 134th Infantry Regiment

Pfc Sanford Heston Nelson was born December 4, 1922. He was drafted and enlisted in Fort Mclellan, Alabama on January 8, 1943. He was killed in action in Mortain, France on August 9, 1944. Initially, he was reported as missing action when his platoon was cut off from the remainder of the troops during an attack. He is buried at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Wedowee, Alabama.
