My Great Uncle, Vernon L. Barnard, was in C Company, 3rd Platoon. He was killed in Saint Lo, france on July 16, 1944.

Thank you for this site. I have found a lot of information that I would not have known about my uncle otherwise.

Looking this up with my dad Mr. Mark G. Eckhoff who was with the 35th before and during the war. It would be great to hear from anyone from the 35th. Great history! My dad is now 93 and has many great stories from his time with the 35th. Hope to hear from anyone from the 35th. Thanks , Steven Eckhoff

My Father Stanley Speiller, Tec 5th Grade, Corporal...35 th Infantry Div., 134 th
Regiment, 2 nd Batallion, Headquarters Company..served with the rest of his "Brothers- in- Arms" from the day in July that the Regiment landed untill the end of the war.
He was awarded The Purple Heart with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster and the Bronze Star. He was a recon scout.
God Bless all those who served then and who serve now and may we always remember them as the best treasure our country has to give, then as well as now.
We owe all those who serve our greatest gratitude !

My grandmother's first husband was Lt. Frank D. Derouin of the 134th. It was amazing (through the power of google search) to find the story of how he died. Thanks for putting this up!
