Thanks for sharing the photos! I'm Col. Botchin's grandson. We miss him greatly, but the accomplishments of him and his men make our whole family proud!

Hi Noel, Your mother's mother was my cousin. I just talked to your mother and she told me about the book you wrote about your grandfather. She said it is called The Lost Soldier. I have been trying to find it on the computer but am not having any luck. Of course I am not too good at finding things. Anyway, Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Greetings to all. Colonel Bernard A. Byrnes, Commander of the 320th Regiment, was my grandfather's cousin.

Today (24 August 2014) I witnessed the presentation of the French Legion of Honor to Douglas L. Whipple, forward observer with the 219th Field Artillery Battalion. This recognition is open to those who served in France during WWII and are still living. I'm sure there are many more veterans who are eligible for this. My father served with two good friends who I would like to locate. One is Captain James B. Kemp from Anniniston, Georgia. His wife's names was Isabel and I believe she was from Germany.

The second I believe is named (last name ) Nicolas. Maybe Milton. Maybe from Nebraska. I believe he was a captain. I heard as a child he was stationed with my father at a base near Landstut, Germany. City misspelled.

I realize these two men maybe deceased but if any one may know of them, I would appreciate they contact me.

Thank you.

My father, Joseph Paolini, Jr. was a member of the 35th signal corps. and served in Normandy, Belgium and Germany. He was a radio man, and ended up in Berlin. Do any of you remember him, or were a part of the signal corps? He died in 1969, when I was 14, so I don't know much about his service. Can anyone help me?

Hello
I'm a Librarian in Public Library at Orléans, and i ve found this site when i'm searching for documents on the freedom of Orléans in 1944.
I'm very happy to find this work, so i an read the history from an other side !
