I am trying to research that path that my father took during his European tour:

1st Lt Martin H Huschka
35th Inf Div, 161st FA Battalion, C Battery

I know he received a battlefield commission at St Lo.

Hello I'm a senior at Clayton State University in Morrow, Ga. I'm actually doing my senior thesis right now on the 134th infantry Regiment. My professor gave me this website and it has been a deep privilege to study and find more about these extraordinary men who I have been writing about for the past several weeks.

Thank you for hosting this amazing resource. My grandfather, Harold D. Barnes, was in Company H. His transcript shows wounds received on 25 Sep 44, and he has a purple heart, but I can't find a record of it here - I guess he might not have been treated. It's been a somber education digging through the records and seeing how many others were wounded and killed.

My uncle Michael Gladish fought with the 320 Infantry Regiment 35th Infantry Division. He fell at St. Lo, France on 30 July 1944. I'm looking for anyone that might have know him before he died.
God Bless you Uncle Mike, God Bless you all!

Am in Normandy now…
I had always thought my uncle, Raymond B. Thornton was KIA in Saint Lo and further that our family didn’t ask for his remains to be sent home. Therefore assumed that I would be able to find his remains in the American Cemetery in Normandy, he is missing? Or they say not buried there and not on the list of MIA, so my question to you, is do you know of the burial sites for those on the 137th’s roster? Do you know who to contact for further information?
A great service you provide
Thank you in advance
David Joel Thornton

S/Sgt Raymond B. Thornton, 137th Infantry Regiment is buried in Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. I sent you a private message with more information. Regards - Webmaster
