I'm grandson of T/Sgt Billy E Altizer of the 78th ID...ie: 692nd & 751st Field Artillery. Am looking for somesort of insignia for either of these Artillery Units. I have his bayo from Battle of Bulge and Berlin Bombing Campaign. His awards & decorations were stolen sometime ago, and St Louis is reissuing them. Any info on these F.I. Battalions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance.....Shawn

I was interested in knowing when Rudolph H. Gliesing joined the 35th Inf. Div.
He was a good friend of my family and was a better 'Uncle' to me then any of my real uncles, especially after my Dad joined the Seabees in 1942. I know he was with the 137th Inf Reg, HQ 1st Bn.
I know he was sent out to bring in prisoners since he spoke German, being born there.
He also asked to stay during occupation to see if he could found what happened to his family.

My Dad ( John E. Mack) was in Co B of the 60th Engineers so enjoyed reading the info and pictues on site. He passed last July and have been trying to obtain more information about his service as have only found some medals he left in his drawers and copies of printed information given at the few reU N I O Ns he attended. His name is not listed on the 60th roster shown on the website..although I did see several of his friends names. He served until Sept 26th when he was wounded in France, however his records do not indicate he was eligable for the CIB- which I do not understand. If anyone might have any info pls contact me.

He would come to our house{apt} early morning/late night to talk with my mom, he was very sensitive and troulbled, as many after the war. Any info would be great.
