Sgt. Wallace G. Crowe was killed in action on
December 5, 1944, while serving as a squad leader. He was leading his men
through the outskirts of Sarregemines, France when he was hit by enemy machine
gun fire.
The picture above was taken in Louisville, KY a week or two before he was sent overseas.
