Cpl. Harry W. Cooper

Company M

Harry W. Cooper was born on February 27, 1925. Prior to entering the U.S. Army he worked on his father's farm in Chandlerville, Illinois. He was inducted into the Army on March 2, 1944 at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois. He arrived in the ETO on August 25, 1944.

During his service with Company M, 134th Infantry Regiment he participated in the campaigns in Northern France and the Rhineland. He returned to the United States on February 19, 1946 and was Honorably Discharged on February 23, 1946.

Cpl. Harry W. Cooper earned the Combat Infantryman Badge and a Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Emblem, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, the WWII Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, and the Honorable Service Lapel Pin.

Cpl. Harry W. Cooper passed away on Memorial Day, May 30, 1988.
