Haskell Parks Henderson, son of Jerry and Mammie Henderson, was born January 14, 1918 in Carter County, Kentucky. He and his wife Gladys had a son Orden Dale. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army October 6, 1942 at Huntington, West Virginia. He trained at Camp White, Oregon and arrived in the ETO in June 1943. He joined Company A, 60th Engineer Combat Battalion as a Demolition Specialist October 4, 1944 when the unit was at Lanfroicourt, France. He was injured in a vehicle accident November 13 and returned to duty December 4, 1944. Pvt Haskell P Henderson was wounded by a shell blast December 12 while handling assault boats for the 134th Infantry Regiment crossing the Blies, River in the vicinity of Frauenberg, France and died of his wounds the following day, December 13, 1944. He is buried at J.O.U.A.M. and Eagle Cemetery, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
