 Pvt Michael L Gladish

Michael John Gladish, son of John and Catherine (Olastio) Gladish, was born August 3, 1917 in Stiles, Pennsylvania.  He registered for the draft on October 16, 1940. He married Rose Pammer on June 28, 1941.  The couple had one child, a daughter Joan.  He was inducted into military service on November 12, 1943 at Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Pvt  Michael J Gladish served as a Rifleman in Company K, 320th Infantry Regiment. He joined the Regiment from the 92nd Replacement Depot on July 24, 1944.  He suffered serious shrapnel wounds July 30, 1944 and died of his wounds later that day. At that time the 35th Infantry Division was attacking southward from St Lo, France.  He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France, Plot: I Row: 2 Grave: 27.
