Pfc James Alessandro was wounded in action September 14, 1944 while serving in Company G. He returned to duty December 17, 1944 after recuperating from his wounds. He later transferred to Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion in March 1945. James Alessandro passed away March 13, 2019 at age 95. He is buried at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown, Michigan.
