Company G - 320th Infantry Regiment

Charles Augustus Acker, son of Charles and Minnie (Aumack) Acker, was born March 11, 1911 in Union Beach, New Jersey. He married Mary Ann Klinsky on December 23, 1939. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940, was inducted into the Army November 24, 1943 at Newark, New Jersey, and trained at Camp Blanding, Florida. He joined Company G, 320th Infantry Regiment November 13, 1944 from the 38th Replacement Battalion and served as a Rifleman. He was promoted to Private First Class December 1, 1944.

Pfc Charles A Acker was originally reported missing and was later confirmed killed in Action January 4, 1945 in the vicinity of Harlange, Luxembourg. He is buried in Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport, New Jersey.
