Hubert Troy Wynn, son of Taylor James and Bell (Cochran) Wynn, was born September 26, 1914 in Centre, Alabama. He married Mae Shropshire and the couple had a son Kenneth and daughter Geraldine. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At that time he was living in Birmingham, Alabama. He was inducted into the Army March 21, 1944 at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia. He joined Company I, 137th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 21, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Hubert T Wynn was killed in action 4 days later on September 25, 1944 in the vicinity of Gremecey, northeast of Nancy, France. He is buried at Neal Hill Cemetery, Centre, Alabama.
