137th Infantry Regiment - Company B

Howard Jessie Tino Jr, son of Jessie Howard and Beulah Mary (Heath) Tino, was born August 4, 1925 in Gastonia, North Carolina. He married Avis Katherine Poole and the couple had a son, Arnold Bernard Tino. He registered for the draft August 4, 1943. At the time he was living in Kannapolis, North Carolina and working at Cannon Textile Mill. He was inducted into the Army December 9, 1943 at Camp Croft, South Carolina and joined Company B, 137th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion October 11, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Howard J Tino, Jr was killed in action November 13, 1944 in the vicinity of Achain, France. He is buried at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, North Carolina.
