Robert Truman Tangen, son of Theodore Sigvald and Alma Melvina (Asleson) Tangen, was born in Minnesota on October 30, 1918. He was inducted into the Army on March 22, 1942 and served as a Messenger in Company E, 137th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division. He was killed in action on July 16, 1944 during the battle for St Lo, France. Pfc Robert T Tangen is buried at Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
