137th Infantry Regiment - Company F

Alan Edward Saul, son of Anthony Edward and Inez (Jolly) Saul, was born in Portland, Oregon September 22, 1923. He moved to Seattle, Washington sometime between 1930 and 1935. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 and was inducted into the Army May 15, 1943 at Seattle, Washington. He joined Company F, 137th Infantry Regiment October 3, 1944 from the 71st Replacement Battalion. Pfc Alan E Saul was seriously wounded by gunshot wounds to the neck and lung November 10, 1944 in the vicinity of the Chateau-Salins Forest, France. He was evacuated to the 60th Field Hospital. He died of his wounds December 3, 1944 and is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
