Ralph Morris, son of Mose and Minnie Lee (Hurst) Morris was born February 15, 1922 at Villa Rica, Georgia. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 while living in Valdosta, Georgia and working at Moody Field airbase in Valdosta. He was inducted into the Army January 9, 1943 at Fort McPherson, Georgia and served in Company G, 137th Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to Private First Class July 1, 1944 and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 9, 1944. Pfc Ralph Morris was killed in action July 13, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France and was posthumously awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 1, 1944. He is buried at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Villa Rica, Georgia.
