Nicholas Vedo Morello, son of Michael and Gertrude Morello, was born November 9, 1922 at Rockland, Deleware. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 while living in Wilmington, Deleware and working at Bellanca Aircraft Corporation. He was inducted into the Army January 23, 1943 at Camden, New Jersey and served as a Rifleman in Company I, 137th Infantry Regiment. Pfc Nicholas V Morello was killed in action September 17, 1944 in the vicinity of Nancy, France. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
