Pfc Carl B Hudson
137th Infantry Regiment, Company A
Carl Bernard Hudson, son of Robert and Mary
Hudson, was born April 4, 1921 in Brazil, Indiana. He registered for the
draft February 16, 1942 and was inducted into the Army September 6, 1942. He
was stationed at Fort McClellan, Alabama and Camp Butner, North Carolina
before departing for the ETO. He joined Company A, 137th Infantry Regiment
as a Scout from the 86th Replacement Battalion on July 17, 1944 when the
unit was in the vicinity of Le Meauffe, just north of St Lo, France. He was
awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 1, 1944. Pfc Carl B Hudson was
killed in action about 35 miles south of Nancy, France on September 13,
1944. He is buried at Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, Indiana.
