137th Infantry Regiment, Company M

Adolph Rudolph Hassenrik, son of Adolph Ernest and Emilie (Moede) Hassenrik, was born August 9, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. He and his wife Bernice had a son, Donald Raymond. He registered for the draft February 14, 1942 when he was 20 years old and working at Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan. He was inducted into the Army sometime during late 1942 or early 1943 and served as an Ammunition Bearer in a heavy weapons company, Company M, 137th Infantry Regiment. Pfc Adolph R Hassenrik was reported missing south of St Lo, France in the vicinity of the Vire River August 4, 1944 and was later confirmed killed in action on that date. He is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
