Subject: Military Intelligence Teams
To: Hqs MIS, ETO, USA, APO 887
1. In compliance with Administrative Memorandum No. 1, MIS Hqs, dated 20 January 1945, the following information is submitted:
a. The IPW Team assigned to this Regiment has in the opinion of the writer been responsible for securing 90% of the enemy information available to this regiment.
b. The team itself under 1st Lt. Theodore Teimer Jr. (MA) has functioned very efficiently and has cooperated 100% with the instructions issued by the writer. Methods of interrogation have been such that with very few exceptions, prisoners interrogated have given all of the information which was within their knowledge. In a few cases where attempts by the prisoner to conceal information was evident or deliberate refusal to talk was encountered, various subterfuges and ruses were instituted by members of this team to secure the information needed in every case was successful without violating the rules of warfare.
c. During periods that the full time of this team was not utilized for prisoner interrogation, they have assisted in the interrogation of civilians, translation and interpretation of captured documents and acted as interpreters in administrative matters.
2. It is very definitely felt that the work of this team has materially assisted this regiment in its very successful operations against the enemy.
