134th Infantry Regiment - Company F

Edward John Wisniewski, son of Lawrence and Mary (Typlak-Garczynska) Wisniewski, was born September 13, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. When he was 18 years old, he registered for the draft on December 24, 1942. At the time he was working at Briggs Manufacturing Company in Detroit. He was inducted into the Army July 6, 1943. He joined Company F, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 26th Infantry Division on December 16, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. While fighting in the Ardennes just south of Bastogne, Belgium, he suffered serious shrapnel wounds December 31, 1944. Pvt Edward J Wisniewski died of his wounds January 17, 1945. He is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.
