134th Infantry Regiment - Company M

Richard Henry Wieser, son of John Henry and Elizabeth (Ruhkamp) Wieser, was born February 5, 1917 in Humphrey, Nebraska. He entered military service March 1941. He departed for the ETO in May 1944 and was billeted in Cornwall, England before landing on Omaha Beach July 6, 1944. T/Sgt Richard H Wieser was a Platoon Sergeant in the Second Platoon, Company M, 134th Infantry Regiment. He was reported missing during the battle at St Lo, France but it was later confirmed that he had been killed in action July 17, 1944. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
