Ernest James Wiemer, son of Otto Ernest and Elizabeth Ellen (Jones) Wiemer, was born June 26, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland. The family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania sometime between 1930 and 1935. He was a graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia where he was an Honor Student. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 and was inducted into the Army May 25, 1943 in Philadelphia. He joined Company F, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 30, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. He was originally reported wounded in action on December 15, 1944 during fighting in the Bannholz Woods in the vicinity of Habkirchen, Germany. His status was changed to missing then it was later confirmed he had been killed in action December 15, 1944. Pvt Ernest J Wiemer is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
