134th Infantry Regiment - HQ 2nd Battalion

John Bernard White, son of Dace William and Mary Frances (Fogarty) White, was born December 11, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas. His family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1931. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Denver and working for the Denver Cab Company. He was inducted into the Army August 20, 1943 at Denver, Colorado. He joined Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion, 134th Infantry Regiment on September 15, 1944 from the 38th Replacement Battalion and served as an Anti-Tank Gun Crewman. He was killed in action by an enemy sniper September 23, 1944 while crossing a road 1 mile north of Malzeville, just north of Nancy, France. Pvt John B White is buried at Mount Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
