Charles Henry White, Jr, son of Charles Henry, Sr and Pauline Elizabeth (Lucas) White, was born December 29, 1913 in Wallingford, Connecticut. He married Helen Muriel Upshall November 10, 1937 in Los Angeles, California. The couple had a daughter, Jerolyn Marie White, born in 1939. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At that time he lived in Santa Ana, California and worked at the Post Office there. He was inducted into the Army April 10, 1944 at Fort MacArthur, California. He joined Company F, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 11, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. He was killed in action September 24, 1944 northeast of Nancy, France in the vicinity of Gremecey and the Chateau Salins Forest. Pvt Charles H White, Jr is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
