134th Infantry Regiment - Company I

Edward L Thomas, son of Robert Almorn and Minnie Agnes (Bills) Thomas, was born February 16, 1916 in Wamego, Kansas. He married Adelia Henrietta Miller on August 5, 1943. He was a member of the National Guard and was mobilized to Federal Service December 23, 1940 at Salina, Kansas. He served as a Rifleman in Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment and suffered an artillery blast August 9, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France. Pfc Edward L Thomas died of his injuries that same day and is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint-James, France.
