Burley Jerome Stinnett, son of Clarence David and Georgia Ann (Laughery) Stinnett, was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on October 30, 1917. His family relocated to El Paso, Texas where he attended high school and El Paso Technical Institute. He was a member of the El Paso Fire Department before joining the Army. He married Evelyn Lowrance on March 18, 1944 in the Post Chapel at Camp Butner, North Carolina while he was stationed there. 2nd Lt Burley J Stinnett served in Company M, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division. Originally reported missing in action, he was confirmed killed in action during the battle for St Lo, France July 15, 1944.
