Edward Tyler Shorey, son of Melvin Tyler and Lucy Mae (Littlefield) Shorey, was born February 17, 1918 in Monroe, Maine. He was inducted into the Army January 20, 1943 at Bangor, Maine. He served as an Automatic Rifleman in First Platoon, Company B, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division. Pfc Edward T Shorey was Killed in Action August 1, 1944 in the vicinity of Torigni Sur Vire, about 8 mile southeast of St Lo, France. He is buried at Pilgrims Home Cemetery, Monroe, Maine.
