Delbert Warren Seger, son of August Vernon and Alzora Ella (Hylton) Seger, was born January 9, 1921 in Edna, Kansas. He registered for the draft March 9, 1942. At the time he was living in Coffeyville, Kansas and working as a truck driver for Page Milk Company in Coffeyville. He was inducted into the Army September 7, 1942 and served in Weapons Platoon, Company E, 134th Infantry Regiment. He was promoted from Private First Class to Sergeant (Squad Leader) July 22, 1944, to Staff Sergeant August 19, 1944, and to Tech Sergeant (Platoon Sergeant), September 21, 1944. T/Sgt Delbert W Seger was killed in action November 11, 1944 by an enemy mortar shell near Vaxy, France in the vicinity of the Foret de Chateau Salins. He is buried at Elm Grove Cemetery, Edna, Kansas.
