Robert Dale Scofield, son of Smith James and Alice (Pierson) Scofield, was born May 8, 1924. He served in the First Platoon, Anti-Tank Company, 134th Infantry, joining the Regiment sometime between November 1, 1942 and November 1, 1943. Pfc Robert D Scofield was killed in action by artillery fire in the vicinity of Hilfarth, Germany while guarding against tank attacks and firing on enemy strong points. He is buried at Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
