Kenneth L Ports, son of Roscoe Hezekiah and Ruth Elnora (Reddick) Ports, was born March 11, 1922 in Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1943, attended Officers Candidate School at Fort Blanding, Florida, and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant May 26, 1943. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Platoon Leader from the 48th Replacement Battalion August 10, 1944. 2nd Lt Kenneth L Ports was killed in action September 18, 1944 in the vicinity of Maxeville, just north of Nancy, France. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro, Maryland.
