Joseph Morbella Paskey, son of Sandy and Susan (Pastoria) Paskey, was born April 12, 1917 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He married Rose Anna Kugler November 23, 1939 and the couple had a son, Ronald John Paskey. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army November 27, 1943 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He entered active service December 18, 1943 at Fort George Meade, Maryland and departed for the ETO in August 1944. He joined Company G, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 21, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Joseph M Paskey was seriously wounded by shell fragments in the vicinity of Gerbecourt about 25 miles northeast of Nancy, France. He was transferred from the 110th Medical Battalion Clearing Station to the 60th Field Hospital and died of his wounds the same day, November 11, 1944. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
