Benjamin Dagwell Kelly, the son of John Michael and Emma Caroline (Kaltenbacher) Kelly was born in New Jersey about 1920. He was inducted into the Army February 28, 1941, received his basic training at Fort Bliss, Texas and attended Officers Candidate School at Fort Benning Georgia. 2nd Lt Benjamin D Kelly served as a Reconnaissance Officer in the Anti Tank Company, 134th Infantry Regiment. He was Killed in Action in the vicinity of St Lo, France on July 25, 1944. 2nd Lt Benjamin D Kelly is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
