William Franklin Hewson Jr, son of William Franklin Hewson Sr and Clara May (Carden) Hewson, was born April 13, 1922 in Keifer, Oklahoma. He registered for the draft June 29, 1942, was inducted into the Army October 31, 1942, and arrived in the ETO during June 1944. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Machine Gunner from the 48th Replacement Battalion on August 13, 1944 when the unit was at Barenton, France. Pfc William F Hewson Jr was initially reported missing in action October 9, 1944 in the vicinity of Jallaucourt, France and was later confirmed killed in action on that date. He is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
