134th Infantry Regiment - Company K

Guion Victor Heath, son of William and Magdalena (Laughinghouse) Heath, was born October 24, 1914 in Vance County, North Carolina. He married Mattie Evelyn Dunn December 11, 1940 and the couple had a daughter, Barbara Ann. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At that time he was living in New Bern, North Carolina. He was inducted into the Army September 23, 1943 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and joined Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 86th Replacement Battalion on July 21, 1944 when the unit was at St Lo, France. Pvt Guion V Heath was reported missing July 30, 1944 in the vicinity of Torigni sur Vire, France and was later confirmed killed in action on that date. He is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
