Lloyd Ross Harvey, son of Earle Alonzo and Jennie Loretta (Frank) Harvey, was born June 19, 1919 in Ohiowa, Nebraska. He married Harriett Marie Wire August 10, 1942 and the couple had 2 children, Claudine and Lowell. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 when he was a 21 year old student at Hastings College and living in Ogalla, Nebraska. He enlisted in the Army February 10, 1941 and served as a Machine Gunner in the Second Platoon, Company D, 134th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. Pfc Lloyd R Harvey was killed in action July 15, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville sur Mer, France.
