134th Infantry Regiment - Company L

Charles Paul Gentile, son of Sabastiano and Guiseppina (Nocita) Gentile, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 9, 1918. He registered for the draft on October 16, 1940. His registration lists him as 5' 8" tall, weighing 143 pounds with brown eyes, brown hair and a light complextion. He was employed at Falstaff Brewing Company in Omaha. A member of the National Guard, he was inducted into the Army at Omaha on December 23, 1940.

S/Sgt Charles P Gentile served in the First Platoon, Company L and landed on Omaha Beach July 6, 1944. He was Killed in Action on July 16, 1944 during the battle for St Lo, France and is buried at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.
