Myrtie Bell Harrison & Cpl Howard L Crowell

Howard L. Crowell entered active service on September 4, 1942 in Little Rock, Ark. He most likely met his wife, Myrtie Bell Harrison, of Enterprise, Alabama when the unit was at Camp Rucker, AL from April through November 1943. The picture above was most likely taken around the time of their wedding November 2, 1943.

Cpl. Crowell served in Company H, 134th Infantry for the entire time the Regiment was in the ETO, from when they landed on Omaha Beach July 6, 1944 until they returned to the U.S. aboard the Queen Mary on September 5, 1945. He was a squad leader of a mortar crew.  He passed away in 1992.

Thanks to his grandson, Lane Davis, for this picture and the information about his grandfather.
